Drop in anytime during the workshops.
The SFAC brings together two renowned workshops into two interactive afternoons where participants will creatively transform donated military uniforms into handmade art objects.
Learn to make paper from uniforms with the wet process in this second part of a two-part event. Also, learn a single-stitch technique that will have you crocheting in minutes. While working, Iraq War veteran Drew Cameron (Combat Paper) and Ramekon O'Arwisters (Crochet Jam) will lead discussions about life, trauma and transformation.
Open to veterans and the general public. Bring a uniform to donate and/or work with provided material.
This event is part of a series of public programs connected to Not Alone: Exploring Bonds Between and With Members of the Armed Forces (November 9, 2016 - March 4, 2017).
